Swansea 4 are delighted to announce the dates for their exhibition Residue
at Exposure Gallery, Swansea. Exposure Gallery is the first venue that the
exhibition will tour over the course of 2006-7 with support from the Arts
Council Wales.
Swansea 4 is a collective of four female Fine Artists, Ann Jordan, Hannah Rumble, Susan Stark and Tracey Taylor, who met while studying at Swansea Institute of Higher Education.
Their work explores
a number of shared themes such as identity, the body
and loss. The work is on going and will incorporate installations, sculpture
and wall paintings, made from a wide variety of media, including latex organic
materials, mud, resin, hair, furniture etc.
Swansea 4 offers you the unique opportunity to observe the work of this exciting group in progress from the initial creative stages to the exhibition itself. The artists aim to react to the gallery space to create fresh and experimental work in differing media that is sympathetic to the surroundings.
The finished results will be seen at the exhibition which will be opened by John Howes on Friday 16th June 2006.
