Debbie was the winner of our 2004 New desighner exhibition.

This competion was set up to find new talent and provide the artist with the chance to put together and curate their own solo exhibition.

Welsh Blankscapes

Sprawling abstract drawings of landscapes, with reference to domestic as well as spiritual imagery, are covered in a web of lines; like threads in the process of being woven into a blanket. These are the themed images depicted in her latest works entitled Welsh Blankscapes. The repetitive strokes of delicate lines are a communion for the artist. She uses Welsh blankets as a metaphor for contemplating a dying culture and a nation which seems generally over-protective of its identity whilst often being perceived as insular by outsiders.

the exhibition opened on the 8th of April and ended on 29th
